Notes for a planned project July 31, 2015

It looks like a good design.  My 1997 Jeep is red, so I like the engine color.  I think I would replace the valve cover with a red aluminum that stated 4.7 instead of 4.0 Liter to avoid confusion by being accurate.  The component list and suggested parts are top notch.
The 1997 AX 15 Aisian/Warner 5 speed manual should work well in most cases even though the engine torque is rated at 320 foot lbs and the transmission is rated at 300 foot lbs.  The input torque ratings are conservative for the transmission.
The same goes for the NP231 Transfer case.  The biggest threat to the power and drive train is axle ratios.  Changing the ring and pinion to match tires will reduce loading on the power and drive line, should work just fine.  Serious off road racers need to upgrade the drive train.

Smokin Stroker June 26, 2015

I went with the Baja Stroker, 4.7L for my 94 YJ.  What a difference it made.  My stock motor "took a dive" so I went a different direction for the replacement.  I added a header, MagnaFlow offroad exhaust, E3 plugs, high flow water pump, Painless Wiring Throttle Body and AirRaid intake along with the Stage 2 Jet ECU Module.  I have absolutely NO complaints.  My YJ really came to life with this new setup...I love it.  Now I'm looking at what "extra" things I can do to get a little more out of her....I'm thinking a turbo might be next.  Thanks ATK, I'm digging my "new" ride, and my buddies are "bringing up the rear" when we hit the trails here in CA.
